How does Evolue™ achieve its performance?
As compared to conventional catalyst, using single site catalyst (metallocene type), regular chains of polymers are produced, hence giving properties like high impact, tear resistance, good ESCR, high clarity and so on.
However, as the polymer chains produced from metallocene have narrow molecular weight distribution, thus affecting the process ability. Therefore, Mitsui created the bimodal technology to counter this problem.

Metallocene Polyethylenes (mPE) have changed the shape of the PE film industry, by superior toughness, puncture resistance, good clarity, superior heat sealing and down-gauging with same properties.
By combining unique metallocene-catalyst and gas-phase technologies, Prime Polymer has developed a very specialized form of ethylene-high-a-olefin (1-Hexene)-copolymer LLDPE in Evolue™ products.

Evolue™ are used in a large number of film applications, such as packaging, agriculture (e.g. Greenhouse covering film and mulch film), construction and building and industrial applications. Greenhouse covering and mulch film is made by PE materials and needs high mechanical properties to withstand maximum stress during installation.
The main purpose of greenhouses is to create an internal environment favorable to plant growth regardless of the external environment and to extend the growing season as well as the quality and crop yield. Also the purpose of mulch film is to modify soil temperature, limit weed growth, prevent moisture loss, and improve crop yield as well as precocity. This purposes are achieved by using proper PE cover. Other application of PE films in agriculture include tunnels, bale wrap and silage film.
